Metricool — Social analytics and scheduling for people who already have a store elsewhere
Metricool is a social scheduling, analytics, and competitor-tracking platform organized around “brands.” Creators and agencies use it as a control room for posts — not as a store or an Instagram inbox.

Metricool sits in a different aisle from Linktree or Superprofile. It is a social media management product: planner, analytics, competitor snapshots, ads reporting, and — on high plans — an API. The homepage comparison on SuperKreator lists Metricool as the “calendar” we intend to fold in. That is accurate as a job to be done. It is inaccurate as a feature-for-feature clone.
People search Metricool when they need Looker Studio, client approvals, or 20 brands in one login. They should not search Metricool when they need UPI. This guide keeps those jobs separate so you do not buy a scheduler hoping it will sell a course.
What is Metricool?
Metricool is a SaaS control panel for social brands. A “brand” is a container: one business or client, with one connected profile per network (1 Instagram, 1 TikTok, 1 Facebook Page, and so on). Plans are sold primarily by how many brands you can keep active.
Official help describes four plan families: Free, Starter, Advanced, Custom. Free is forever, no credit card, one brand, with sharp limits. Paid plans add LinkedIn, more brands, longer analytics history, SmartLinks, integrations, and — only on Advanced/Custom — Looker Studio, Make/Zapier, and the Metricool API.
How does Metricool work?
You connect social accounts (OAuth), plan posts on a calendar, publish or queue them, then read analytics Metricool pulls from those networks. Competitor profiles let you benchmark public metrics. Agencies add users, roles, and approval so a client does not see a draft go live.
SmartLinks is Metricool’s bio-link extra on paid plans — a hint that they know the “one link” problem exists — but it is not a Cashfree store. X/Twitter is commonly an add-on even on paid plans; Metricool’s help tells Free users they cannot connect LinkedIn or X at all.
Unlimited publishing on paid plans is subject to Metricool’s fair use policy. “Unlimited” is not a dare.
Key features of Metricool
Documented on Metricool’s free-vs-paid help article:
- Planner (Free: 20 published posts per calendar month; paid: no monthly cap, fair use).
- Analytics (Free: 30 days, watermark, no PDF/PPT).
- Competitor tracking (Free: 5 fixed competitors on specific networks; you cannot swap them).
- AI text credits (Free: 5 / month).
- Paid: LinkedIn, SmartLinks, Canva, Google Drive, post library, branded reports.
- Advanced/Custom only: Looker Studio, Make, Zapier, API.
This is a reporting and scheduling feature set. There is no Instagram comment-to-DM merchant flow and no INR catalog.
Who is Metricool best for?
- Agencies who bill by client and need brand slots, roles, and approvals (Advanced).
- Creators who post to many networks and want one analytics login.
- Teams that already sell on Shopify/Superprofile/SuperKreator and only need the megaphone managed.
Not for: someone whose next rupee depends on a UPI link in a DM. Wrong aisle.
Metricool pricing
Metricool’s help center refuses to freeze dollar amounts in the plan-difference article: it points you at the live pricing page. Brand counts, however, are official:
| Plan | Brands (official help) |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 (cannot add/delete) |
| Starter | Up to 5 or up to 10, depending on the Starter option |
| Advanced | Up to 15, 25, or 50 |
| Custom | 50+ |
Independent 2026 roundups that cite Metricool’s public pricing page commonly list Starter from about $25/month (about $20/month annual for 5 brands) and Advanced from the mid-$50s to $67/month depending on the month the author visited, plus an X/Twitter add-on (figures between $5 and $10 per connected account have appeared in reviews — treat as volatile). VAT extra.
Because Metricool changes add-on prices, this article will not pretend a scraped $25 is a contract. Open the pricing page, toggle annual, and add X/analytics add-ons before you compare it to a “free creator OS.”
Advantages of Metricool
- Agency-grade brand model that creator-OS tools usually lack.
- Competitor analytics as a real feature, not a blog promise.
- API + Looker + Zapier on Advanced — SuperKreator has no public API.
- Honest free plan. 20 posts and 30 days of data is limited, but it is a real product, not a 7-day trial dressed as free.
- Network coverage (once paid) that includes LinkedIn, which many India-Instagram tools ignore.
Limitations of Metricool
- Does not sell your product. No UPI, no file delivery, no course LMS.
- Free plan is a demo of the calendar, not a business plan: 20 posts, no LinkedIn, no X, watermarked analytics.
- X/Twitter as a paid add-on on top of Starter/Advanced (confirm current add-on price).
- One profile per network per brand. Extra Instagram accounts mean extra brands or a different tool.
- Cost scales with brands, which is correct for agencies and annoying for a creator with one face and six “side projects.”
Metricool alternatives
- Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout — same aisle, different analytics opinions.
- Native Meta/YouTube studios — free, uglier, good enough for one account.
- SuperKreator — when you want the calendar attached to a UPI store and AutoDM/LIVE. Do not migrate off Metricool Advanced for Looker/API SuperKreator does not offer.
- Stay dual-stack. This is the adult answer for anyone making real money from both posts and products.
Metricool vs SuperKreator
Metricool wins scheduling maturity, multi-brand, competitor reports, API, Looker, approvals. It is not close.
SuperKreator wins commerce (Cashfree, digital delivery) plus Planner, Publish, AutoDM, and 24/7 LIVE beside that commerce — for a single creator brand, not an agency brand grid.
Use both if you can afford both. Use Metricool alone if you do not sell. Use SuperKreator alone if you barely need multi-brand analytics and mostly share links + sell.
When should you choose Metricool?
Choose Metricool when reports, brands, LinkedIn, or an API are on the critical path. Choose it for clients. Choose the Advanced tier when Zapier/Looker/API are required — Starter will not grow into those features.
When should you consider SuperKreator?
Consider SuperKreator when the missing piece is INR checkout on the same brand as the bio, with Planner and LIVE in the same login — not another analytics watermark. Keep Metricool if you need agency-grade reporting.
Comparison
A scheduler versus a store. The only honest “winner” column is per row.
| Dimension | Metricool | SuperKreator |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduling & analytics | Core product, multi-network, competitor tracking Stronger here | Creator Planner/Publish; not agency Looker/API |
| API / Looker / Zapier | Advanced and Custom Stronger here | None publicly |
| UPI store & file delivery | Not the product | Cashfree checkout, verified delivery Stronger here |
| Instagram AutoDM | No | Available in the creator dashboard Stronger here |
| Free plan usefulness | Real but capped (20 posts, 30-day data) | Free bio + store to start |
| Best for | Agencies and multi-brand social teams | Indian creators selling digital goods |
Conclusion
If your pain is “I cannot see what worked on Reels vs Shorts” or “my intern needs approval workflows,” buy Metricool (or a peer like Later/Buffer) and ignore creator-OS marketing. SuperKreator Planner is for creators, not an agency Looker suite.
If your pain is “the calendar is fine but the bio does not take UPI,” keep Metricool and add SuperKreator, or use SuperKreator alone if you barely need multi-brand reports. Replacing Metricool Advanced would still be a downgrade for anyone who lives in Looker/Zapier.
Frequently asked questions
What is Metricool?+
Metricool is a social media management platform for scheduling, analytics, competitor tracking, and (on higher plans) team workflows and an API. It is organized around brands, not SKUs.
Is Metricool free?+
Yes. Free is forever, no card, one brand, up to 20 published posts per month, 30 days of analytics, and no LinkedIn or X. It is a trial of the calendar, not a full studio.
How much does Metricool cost?+
Paid plans are Starter, Advanced, and Custom, priced by brand count. Public 2026 pages are often quoted from about $25/month for Starter, but Metricool’s help tells you to read the live pricing page. Add-ons such as X/Twitter are extra.
Does Metricool have an API?+
Yes, on Advanced and Custom according to Metricool help. Starter does not unlock API access.
Can Metricool replace Linktree or SuperKreator?+
SmartLinks on paid plans is a bio-link, not a UPI store. It does not replace SuperKreator commerce or Superprofile AutoDM.
Is Metricool good for beginners?+
The free plan is fine for learning a calendar. Beginners who only post from their phone may not need it. Agencies will outgrow Free immediately.
Metricool vs SuperKreator?+
Metricool is the analytics/scheduling specialist. SuperKreator is the India commerce specialist. They complement more than they substitute until SuperKreator ships a real planner.
