@technovert.yogi’s one-reel AutoDM: what Superprofile published, and what it does not prove

A vendor-published Instagram comment-to-DM story from India. Useful as a playbook. Useless as a revenue forecast — Superprofile never published rupees.

On 5 August 2025 Superprofile published a case study of Instagram account @technovert.yogi. Superprofile is a competitor. The numbers are theirs. SuperKreator did not work with this creator and has not seen the underlying analytics.

What they published, for one reel:

  • 28,610 new followers
  • 30,217 automated responses
  • 31,742 link clicks
  • CTA: comment for the link
  • DM copy they quote: “Here's the link. Enjoy!”

A second Superprofile article repeats the same three integers. That consistency is not independent verification. It is the same vendor repeating a story.

This page exists because Indian operators keep asking whether comment-to-DM “works.” Superprofile’s answer is: on a reel that already wanted a link, yes, at the level of follows, DMs, and clicks. It is silent on revenue.

The play Superprofile actually described

Strip the adjectives and the play is three moves:

  1. A reel people wanted a sequel to. Superprofile does not name the niche or show the creative. They only say the topic “naturally made viewers want more information.” Without the asset, you cannot copy the virality. You can copy the job: the comment is the product, not a caption URL that Instagram buries.
  2. A spoken CTA to comment, not to tap the bio. Superprofile’s own rationale: comments are an engagement signal; delayed manual replies drop the people who asked.
  3. One AutoDM with a link. They quote a single friendly sentence. No quiz, no email gate, no seven-step ManyChat canvas in the write-up.

That is closer to a router than to a funnel. Jenna Kutcher’s public posts (see the ManyChat case) are the opposite extreme: email capture, quizzes, webinars. @technovert.yogi, as Superprofile tells it, just got the link out of the comments.

How to read the three numbers without lying

Runs (30,217) vs followers (28,610). Superprofile’s help center measures “Followers Gained via Auto-DM” when the follow-before-DM gate is on, and it says Follow Gate / Email Gate are Creator-plan features, not free-plan. The public case study does not say whether that gate was enabled. The two counts being close is consistent with a follow wall, and also consistent with a reel that simply converted a lot of viewers who already meant to follow. We will not pretend Superprofile disclosed the mechanism.

Clicks (31,742) vs runs (30,217). Clicks can exceed sends if people tap twice, or if the DM has more than one button. Superprofile’s help lists “Clicks” as link/button clicks inside DMs. That is intent to open, not checkout.

Zero rupees. The articles never mention GMV, AOV, refunds, or delivery. “Full-funnel creator growth” in their strategy post is marketing language for visibility → DM → click → follow. A click on a Notion doc and a click on a ₹999 Cashfree order are the same integer.

If you run this play on SuperKreator later, measure orders and delivery, not vanity alignment with 31k.

Constraints the help center adds (and the case study skips)

Superprofile’s AutoDM docs are more honest than the case study about plumbing:

  • AutoDM is an app inside Superprofile that can reply to comments, DMs, and — depending on the article — story replies and live comments. Product surfaces change; read their live help.
  • Reel automations can target any post, a specific post, or the next post.
  • Follow Check can ask the user to follow (their reel guide says it asks three times) before or regardless of sending the primary DM.
  • Email collection is a separate gate.

Meta also has to allow the Instagram account type and permissions the vendor requires (typically a professional account). When Instagram throttles, every AutoDM vendor looks broken. Superprofile’s case study does not discuss throttling. If you are sizing a viral reel, that omission matters more than the 28k headline.

SuperKreator contrast, without theatre: we ship comment-to-DM on official Meta messaging APIs with paced delivery during spikes, next to a Cashfree cart. Publishing this case is not a promise that you can paste @technovert.yogi’s CTA into SuperKreator and inherit 28k followers — those belong to the reel.

Operator lessons that survive the vendor

These do not depend on Superprofile being truthful to the rupee, because they are about Instagram physics:

  • Have the destination live before the reel. A 30k-click spike onto a Google Drive folder, a dead Bitly, or a personal UPI ID is how viral content becomes support tickets. See the UPI bio-store case.
  • Comment CTAs beat caption URLs when you need both reach and a private delivery channel. That is why Superprofile, ManyChat, Stan, and SuperKreator all sell some version of this.
  • Speed is the product. Superprofile’s stated failure mode is manual replies. That remains true if you use a VA in IST at 2 a.m. during a US-timezone spike.
  • Do not confuse a follow gate with a business. Followers are cheap relative to a mapped payment. If the link is a lead magnet, you still need a second system (email, WhatsApp, or a paid SKU).

The India-specific add-on Superprofile does have, and this case study barely uses: the link can be a UPI checkout. Their write-up never says what URL they sent. If you copy the play, send a store URL, not a “DM me price.”

Conclusion

Steal the shape (content that earns a comment, a keyword, an instant DM, a real URL). Do not steal the integers into a pitch deck. They are Superprofile’s, unpublished as a ledger, and attached to a reel we cannot inspect.

If you need a deep flow canvas, WhatsApp, or an agency inbox now, ManyChat remains the specialist; Superprofile remains a mature India AutoDM+courses bundle. SuperKreator’s job is the UPI store on the username plus AutoDM in the same workspace — measure orders, not vanity alignment with 31k clicks.

Frequently asked questions

Did SuperKreator work with @technovert.yogi?+

No. This is Superprofile’s published story. We have not verified the analytics export.

Can I get the same 28k followers on SuperKreator AutoDM?+

Not as a product promise. Follower counts belong to the reel and to Instagram, not to the vendor logo in the DM. SuperKreator AutoDM can send the link; it cannot invent virality.

Are the clicks sales?+

No. Superprofile reported link clicks. They did not report orders, revenue, or refunds.
